Situation  

  • The client’s strategic offering was to provide a variety of healthcare services on the high street
  • Client needed a variety of staff from expert clinicians to administrators
  • There was a lack of general and volume resourcing expertise in house
  • There was a planned rollout of over 50 healthcare centres across the UK, within very aggressive timescales

Solution

  • Established a ‘recruitment centre of excellence’ on-site with the client as well as an off-site delivery centre
  • Ran all recruitment advertising for the client and established a strong employer brand
  • Designed a selection process to accommodate the different roles
  • Established regional assessment centres to hire more quickly and to appeal to candidates
  • Established an accurate reporting process
  • Ran a campaign to attract clinicians from overseas to supplement the other recruitment activity
  • Standardised all joining processes, ensuring there was one quality standard
  • Established a referral scheme that accounted for 6% of hires

Result

  • All healthcare centres opened with at least 90% of full complement of staff, despite the unrealistic timescales
  • Minimal turnover (8%) due to thorough selection processes
  • Recruited over 1100 candidates in under three 3 years
  • Delivered a consistent offer acceptance rate of over 80%
  • Developed a model for transferring key staff from healthcare centre to healthcare centre
  • Established the client as an employer of choice within the healthcare market
